I enjoy reading collections of stories by Tony Thorne. The Tall SF Tales for Teens is a great set of stories for young adults who want to read for enjoyment in ways that challenge their imagination and logical thinking. Whether it is alien invasions, robotics fears, or parasite invasions, teens can read these short stories that will make them think about the possible futures, then discuss the ideas with others, and perhaps be creative enough to compose their own speculative fictional piece. And adults should not let the title deter them from reading the book. Teachers and parents can become part of the conversation and also enjoy the stories themselves. There are short works for a quick read as well as pieces with chapters that you don't want to stop reading. Of the longer works, "Free Range" is the title that has stayed with me as I try to imagine how I would react to an invasion from another world and galaxy as described in the story. "Bugsie 37" is a shorter, AMUSING, piece with a theme about keeping friends close and enemies closer along with a mini-lesson regarding loopholes in Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics.
